NORWICH, United Kingdom - 1st August 2012

Wow !! We have been stuck with a well known chain of a so called Spanish tapas bar in Norwich for a long time now until we heard the rave reviews of Torero, all of which are just and certified by our first visit, the food was authentic, tasty and perfectly cooked
The service was unimposing but when you thought you needed something it was there for you.
The House wine was very very good and very reasonable price.
Well done Torero we will be back Tomorrow for your lunch offer.

Wonderful! Lovely, intimate little restaurant that transported us to Spain. The food and service was excellent and very welcoming. Tapas was amazing and we ordered far too much but couldn't stop eating!!! Highly recommended and will certainly go back.

Best authentic Spanish tapas bar outside Spain! The real decor, the real food and wine and people who speak Spanish (and English).

No frills and probably the most traditional spanish restaurant in Norwich. So based on that, if you love Spanish food a must, though may not appeal to all.

I am not local but have been to this place twice. On each occasion the food has been outstanding. The service is also impeccable. Not tried the Tapas option yet but it will happen. When travelling I will always eat local fare and it is great to find something in the UK that is authentic and a reminder of foreign trips. Keep up the good work

The food was expensive and bland, I visited on a Saturday lunchtime and the staff treated us as an inconvenience! Overall very disappointed as I had read on this site it was a good restaurant.

while the food here isn't bad, the food here isn't great. The service leaves alot to be desired, the staff are inattentive and seem very stressed! Very bad house cabernet, and all in all not a very pleasant experience. Definitely wouldn't go back.

Fantastic food, great wine, snappy service. A good range of excellent tapas to choose from. Best tapas in Norwich - recommended. Favorite dishes are the morcilla (if they have it), Patatas Bravas and the Gambas (prawns). Lots of other great dishes too. Yum.

Torero is the place to eat spanish in Norwich. Authentic dishes authentically prepared. In fact the whole ambience can easily transport you to the shores of Spain. Service is welcoming and efficient but the best thing is the value! Muy Bien!

Went to Torero as part of a group of 15 for a pre-booked meal over the Xmas period.

Despite the restaurant being prodigiously busy all the food was excellent and the service up to it's usual friendly standard. The waitress is a gem - efficient, charming and friendly and always smiling.

It is not often you have a party of 15 all singing the praises of the restaurant, particularly during a really busy evening, but this was the case when we went.

If you have not been to this restaurant go. You won't regret it. It is excellent and on top of having lovely food it's really reasonably priced. If there is a better restaurant in Norwich in the price range I have yet to eat there.

Why are you still reading this - go and book a table now.

Norwich, United Kingdom - 5th October 2008

4 of us took a table here for my birthday on a Saturday night. We were told at 6.30 we must finish by 8 as our table had been 'sold', though the place was mostly empty. We ordered tapas and paella, but the waiter (proprietor?) seemed a little reluctant to cook the latter as it took a long time. His style of taking the order consisted of suddenly running off as if he'd noticed the kitchen was on fire, then returning without explanation. The food appeared, and was excellent, but as 8 approached he became increasingly nervous, and we thought that perhaps a famous bandido had commandeered our table for that time, although most tables were still unoccupied. Against his will we insisted on a single cup of coffee (no dessert) at 7 minutes to 8, and stayed at the table until 8.20 to see what would happen. No-one claimed it! If you can put up with eccentric service and you like Spanish food this is for you. All the food was superb... but the Saturday night service was like Fawlty Towers!

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Norwich. The food is authentically Spanish, the service is excellent and the price is good. I thoroughly recommend a visit, but book as it does get very busy at peak times.

I have been here several times - the lunch is a good deal; the evening food is well cooked and well served and the waitress is lovely too. Recommended.

Derby, United Kingdom - 25th November 2007

Having read the reviews posted here we expected great things from Torero.
We visited at 7:30 on a Saturday night and the restaurant was not busy yet we were told our party of four had to order all the dishes (raciones) we wanted in one go as Saturday night was busy.
We ordered and got twelve dishes all at once!! The food was great but went cold quickly as we tried to sample all the dishes. We felt rushed and it made the evening something less than special.
The two staff were less than sympathetic to our comments.
We won't visit on a Saturday again.

If you're a fan of spanish cuisine and tapas in particular then you'll find no place in Norwich as traditional as Torero's. Bar Tapas is a nearby comparison but a little glorified side by side to the subtle but VERY spanish Torero's. Reminds me of a little place I used to visit in Madrid. Very good spanish dishes and at a decent price, especially compared to La Tasca up the road.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend and had never had tapas before so wasn't sure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised- torero's had a nice and varied selection of yummy food, friendly and quick service and very very good value for money! I have been back twice since and it has been excellent every time!

Wonderful place. Very authentic and top quality tapas, good service too. Without a doubt the most authentic Tapas in Norwich and probably Norfolk. You need to book ahead but worth every penny

We turned up in an attire of figleaves and full of fun! We were treated to a feast of endless delicious dishes and fantastic sangria. Our group felt we had been transported to Espana!

With its traditionally tiled decor, walking into Torero really does make you feel like you have been transported to a corner of Spain. The staff are friendly and the food is both excellent and authentic. Unsuprisingly paella is a speciality. Book well in advance for larger tables.
